The Covenant of His Glory

Scriptures: Genesis 1:26-28, Genesis 9:1-17, Revelation 4: 1-3, 10:1, Ezekiel 1:28

When you see a rainbow in the sky what is the first thought that comes to your mind?

When you see someone wearing the image of that same rainbow does the same thought come to your mind?

Why do we see rainbows in the sky, and what is the intended meaning behind it?

In Genesis 1:26 we see that God made us or the original human being after His own image and in His likeness.

Now I want to take a second and add a little emphasis to this verse. Because I believe when we read this we don’t take the significance of this into consideration.

Let’s say we were to create a painting or a statue in our image and likeness. Now if you were a tall person you would make the statue tall. If you were slim, you would make it slim. You would make sure that the statue or painting had any and every characteristic that you had, so that when anyone saw it, they would know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was a statue or painting of you.

Now when two people come together and create another. One of the first things I believe they knowingly or unknowingly are waiting to see , is, whose image is the child in. They are looking to see their own characteristics in the being that they created and if they see anything that doesn’t look like them or any kind of variant characteristics they most likely blame that on the other person, or if the characteristics are completely different they may even begin to question if the baby is theirs or who the father of the baby truly is.

Now in Genesis 1:26 God said let Us!

God the Father - The Omnipotent The Almighty and All Powerful King of All and Ruler of All The Most High. God the Son - The Omniscient The All Knowing and All Seeing, Wisdom and Creator of All that’s Living, The Life Producing Word & God the Holy Spirit- The Omnipresent One Present in All Places at the Same time Presiding with Power, Revelation and the ability to Resurrect the dead.

So when God said let Us make man in Our image and after Our likeness that statement in itself means that God who is triune, took His own characteristics and identity and put it into us or as the Bible states it formed and breathed it into Adam.

Now you may ask for what purpose did God do this? Well the Bible states so that man could have dominion over the entire earth and everything created on earth. But I believe that the dominion part was just a byproduct of the main reason God created man. I believe a major part of it was to have someone else or others to share His Glory with, to fellowship with to love and raise eternally. But I believe another part of it was to see All of Him in all of us. The characteristics of the Trinity in one being and in turn many beings, sons of God ruling and reigning on earth.

Now we all know how the rest of the story went, we started out in God’s image in Genesis 1 and by Genesis 6, The Bible says “And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.”

Genesis 6:3 KJV

And then in less than 5 verses - the Lord regretted that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved at heart. So the Lord said, I will destroy, blot out, and wipe away mankind, whom I have created from the face of the ground--not only man, [but] the beasts and the creeping things and the birds of the air--for it grieves Me and makes Me regretful that I have made them.

Genesis 6:6-7 | AMP

But then, but God, so rich is He in His mercy!

Wait! Wrong scripture I meant - But Noah found grace (favor) in the eyes of the Lord. Genesis 6:8 | AMP

Thank God for Noah, or thank Noah for God? Anyway Noah found grace FAVOR in the Lords eyes.

So Noah built an Ark. God destroyed the whole earth excluding Noah’s family and the animals that Noah brought into the Ark.

Then in Genesis 9 we read that God blessed Noah and gave him the same commission he gave to Adam & Eve. Then the Bible says that God made a covenant with Noah and gave him a sign and this is our first reference of the rainbow. Now here God calls it the sign of the covenant and the sign to Him is a remembrance not to destroy the earth and all of it’s inhabitants by water again. He called it His Bow and the promise was between Him and the earth.

Now for a long time I thought that the rainbow was just the sign of the covenant and that it was only spoken about in Genesis 9. I also wondered what’s with the devil and his blasphemous use of the rainbow connected to homosexuality, then promoting pride and spirit day, etc.

It got to the point that, when I was looking for an image of a rainbow, homosexual flag came up.

Then I saw spirit day and that grieved my spirit even more. So I went to the Word and upon further study I realized that, the rainbow is mentioned 3 other times in scripture and it has nothing to do with the covenant. In fact it is in reference with and connected to God’s glory. Then the light came.

The first being - Like the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud on the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face and I heard a voice of One speaking.

Ezekiel 1:28 | AMP

The second being - And He Who sat there appeared like [the crystalline brightness of] jasper and [the fiery] sardius, and encircling the throne there was a halo that looked like [a rainbow of] emerald. Revelation 4:3 | AMP

The third being - THEN I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven, robed in a cloud, with a [halo like a] rainbow over his head; his face was like the sun, and his feet (legs) were like columns of fire. Revelation 10:1 | AMP

Then it all started to make sense. When God sees the rainbow, He remembers the first state of man, made in His image with His glory upon him. (The covering that Adam lost immediately after sinning and hence realizing that he was naked)

But the devil uses the rainbow to remind God that he stripped His creation of that Glory and now it’s used to cover his children fallen man in his sinful state.

And the saddest part about it, is that those bound in homosexuality are clueless and in darkness not knowing that they’re just prisoners of war. They think that the world hates them and that they are the most loving people on the planet. Just as sweet as can be! But the people that actually hate them the most are their own brothers and sisters, who taunt and ridicule them, while they’re all children of the devil and the enemy is using them all as pawns in the battle.

I remember growing up and thinking this is the strangest thing that I have ever seen. You have a man, that says he’s NOT attracted to women. But is attracted to a man that dresses and acts like a woman? Then you have a woman that does NOT like men, but is attracted to another woman that masquerades as a man?

If this isn’t DEMONIC, I don’t know what is. Homosexuality violates every Biblical covenant, promise and commission. But I’m not judging or blaming anyone because sin is sin. We were all lost at one point and in need of a Savior. I love all human beings, but hate sin and it’s maker. But to think that you’re walking in love and the word Pride is attractive to you, know that pride ALWAYS leads to destruction, no matter your gender. Just ask those people from Sodom or Gomorrah, oh yeah you can’t because they were both destroyed.

True love gives, it is not selfish, it creates, reproduces itself and multiplies. If everyone that was so called born gay, actually had gay parents they would not be here. If the world turned gay, there would be no human beings 100 years from now. The thought of being homosexual is purely selfish and in fact a crime against humanity. It’s amazing how society even accepts the thought, much less supports two people that have no desire to reproduce raising a family. Giving an innocent child to two self centered adults that made the conscious decision to go against the facts of life is ludicrous. And I’ll just end on that note!
